Ash Cloud - 02' 46", colour, sound, Ireland, 2010
On the day after the outbreak of Island’s Eviafjallajökull volcano in 2010, there were long periods of waiting, also in Dublin’s airport.
Under the opaque, shatter-proof glass floor of the airport’s internet lounge, a woman and a child can be observed, sitting on revolving chairs and appearing to be shrouded as in a nebulous cloud of ash.
The restless child twirls around on its chair as if on a merry-go-round. The mother imitates it with a gesture of resignation.
